Need to know performance upgrades

Hey all, I have a 2007 subaru impreza 2.5i and I want to build it up. I need to know everything that I would need to make it a mid 400hp to the ground. I am leaning towards a motor swap to a wrx motor and tranny. I am looking to also do the work myself. Any help is greatly appreciated

Step 1: Sell the 2.5i.
Step 2: Buy a WRX.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: PROFIT.

here is your best best advice: sell the car and buy a wrx. It is easier and you will save yourself money

Yeah I have pondered it but I won't learn anything that way. I kinda was looking for a project as well.

As others said it will be much more cost efficient in the long run to sell and buy a wrx. To get to 400whp on a wrx all u need is turbo, injectors, fuel pump, forged pistons if u want to be smart, exhaust and an intercooler and bov. Let me know if I missed anything I feel like I am

I vote you turn it into a rallycross car. You will learn a lot about Subarus and have fun doing it! It will have more than enough power for rallyx in stock form. There are quite a few shops up there that specialize in Subaru rally stuff, try hitting up Primitive Racing just outside Portland.

395 whp on a low reading dyno. I have $35k worth of aftermarket parts in my car.

Honestly, Mustang.

It's not a simple swap. It's a conversion.
