FS: 2000 2.5rs coupe M5 lots of upgrades $4k MI
Selling the car so I can buy a wrecked ls1 M6 firebird donor car to swap into my v6 bird. Will consider an even trade for a wreck..
I have a 125k mile 2 door Sedona red pearl 2000 2.5rs, 5speed MT. Located in Macomb MI 48044
I haven’t babied it but I haven’t beaten on it. I have owned the car for 4 years, and done things little by little to it. Car has a power sunroof, power windows and doors, cruse, and cold A/C (rarely ever use it). Care is well maintained, I change fluids regularly with amsoil products. Drive train is solid but the engine is starting to feel a little tired.
List of current mods;
Drive train:
-port matched heads
-Boral header
-stromung mid-pipe
-wrx exhaust
-bomz racing under drive pulley
-Long tube cold air intake
-short throw shifter
Braking:
-Good ridge stainless steel brake lines
-WRX front rotors, caliper hangers
-H6 rear rotors, caliper hangers
-DOT 5.1 brake fluid
-EBC red stuff pads
-Powder coated (red) calipers, hangers, rotor centers
-cross drilled rotors
Suspension:
-White line anti lift kit
-white line flat out progressive lowering springs
-KYB GR2 struts all around
Styling:
-“euro” front bumper
-c west side skirts
-22b hood vents
-V6 sti wing
-Demon rear bumper
- Kumo street tires
-powder coated rims
-“black out” mod for headlights, and corner markers
Interior:
-Stitch welded panels
-8pt roll cage (painted body color with black pads)
-Fixed back racing buckets, with 4 point harnesses (upper harnesses attached to cross bar of cage, well above tops of shoulders)
-Real carbon fiber accents
-JDM info center shell for center of dash (housing radio, stock radio location is a carbon fiber sheet reserved for turbo timer or what ever)
-custom fiberglass rear door cards housing speakers
-indigo reverse glow gauges
-body color matched; gauge bezel, center dash pod, climate control bezel, center vent bezel, shifter bezel, center consul plate behind shifter, drivers and passengers lower door panels and speaker enclosure.
-New carpet
Sound system:
-Sony GT40 head unit (with aux input for mp3 player)
-sony 6 disk cd changer
-Infinity reference series component front speakers
-infinity reference series co-axel rear speakers
-Kicker 400.4 amp for infinity speakers
-custom ‘floating’ center amp rack for kicker 400.4
-Kicker comp CR 12” sub
-Kicker 200.1 amp for sub
-Custom fiberglass ‘spare tire’ trunk enclosure (painted body color)
-Left floor mounted custom floating amp rack for sub amp
-Dynomatted trunk and drivers/passengers doors
Every thing is set up and works perfectly.
Right now as the car sits the drivers and passengers lower door panels, and center console plates need to be painted, and for some reason the sunroof stopped working when I put the headliner back it. The rest of the body looks great except for the front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper could stand to be touched up, and the wheels have some curb rash to them.
This car has been a dependable daily driver for me for the last few years and I have no doubt will remain as reliable for many years to come; even if you don’t swap out the engine right away.

UPDATE: I started the car up today and it was making a ticking noise. This happened yesterday when I was showing the car and I thought that it was just because its been sitting for about a week. It sounds to me like a lifter is sticking. After the car runs for about 30 seconds or so it quiets right down. I don’t know how long this has been going on because I let the car warm up every morning before I drive it and with the exhaust its hard to hear unless you start it up, pop the hood and listen for it.
more recent pics (seat is in, and I still haven’t cleaned the thing!)

email me for sound clips
first clip is of a cold weather cold car start and warm up (you can hear the noise a bit in it) recorder sitting on radiator core support
second clip is a 5-60 pull with aggressive shifts ~6k rpm
and a return trip 5-60 with less aggressive shifts ~4k rpm recorder set on passengers seat.
