2000 2.5 RS CEL Problem

2000 2.5 RS CEL Problem

I recently bought a used 2000 2.5 RS. This past Monday the CEL popped on out of nowhere. I brought it to the dealership today and the code they pulled from it was P0446 (Vent Control Valve). They said the car had been serviced for this same problem before I bought it. Has anybody else had or seen this problem before? If you have any information on the code P0446, could you respond to my post. Thanks.

here's the correct code and information, if anybody could tell me what it means, i'd appreciate it

PO446 - EVAP System Vent Control Low Input

the dealership said it had something to do with emissions

Car Info: 00 impreza rs

If you recently bought the car from them, couldn't they fix the problem for free. Or if it has been serviced for the same problem, that means that subaru didn't do a good job at fixing it.
Nothing to worry about if its emissions, your car should be perfectly well, except u wont pass emission testing.

Yeah, the dealership is gonna take care of the repairs at no charge to me, well at least that's what they tell me.

I'm just curious as to what the problem is. Just trying to learn.

just a little update, incase anybody was wondering...it turns out that the wiring from the emissions sensor was frayed and it was shorting, they replaced it and now i have no more CEL problem...
