1998 2.5RS Question - Car keeps dying
Hey guys,
Brief History:
I just had my car worked on, the motor (113K miles) had a blown head gasket and so I had the HG's and the engine seals replaced. The car has new fuel and oil filters, new spark plugs, and new fluids (oil, tranny, radiator). The car's CEL was on prior to the fixing my car due to the leakage caused by the blown gaskets and so I couldn't get smogged for a while. After my car was finished, the CEL was gone and everything seemed to operate fine. I took it immediately to get smogged and passed (I'm glad I took it as soon as the work was done). My car is completely stock except for light suspension modifications and wheels.
Problem:
I noticed that my car idles REALLY low now (about 400-600 RPM) and shakes a lot (both in hot and cold weather). The main problem is that my engine dies as I come to a stop (stop light, stop sign). I noticed as I drove home tonight that my CEL came back on and as soon as I came to the next stop sign, the car died AS I was slowing down (car shuts off smooth with no jerks). Although it doesn't die everytime I come to a stop, it happens at least once or twice whenever I drive the car.
If anyone can help or have any suggestions as to what may be the problem, it would be much appreciated to get some feedback. Thank you very much and hope I can identify this soon.
