Cobb Tuning posted their initial test results which indicate a larger turbo than previous 2.0 liter WRXs and slightly larger than the Forester XT turbo.
The larger displacement of the 2006 WRX and TR version relative to the 2.0 liter engine can tolerate both a larger turbo sizing and a more aggressive camshaft(s) profile as the additional displacement makes up for the loss in low end torque introduced by those components, but with more top end power. Increasing displacement has almost no drawbacks other than a slight weight increase from a longer crankshaft stroke or larger diameter pistons. To put it into simplistic drag racing V-8 terms, a street/strip camshaft with a lumpy idle in an old 283 Chevy small block would probably be a very mild, very streetable choice in a 350 small block.

I can't belive you just compared a sick subaru to an american car (garbage)! Nice explanation though it got the point across, but I just have to say american muscle cars get to big thumbs down in my book.
