newbie picking up car next week!

I'm sure that you guys get a ton of posts like this, but I'm excited as hell to pick up my white '05 STI next weekend! I'm flying down to Socal to get it Saturday. I've been using the search function to research mods and I think I'm going w/a stage II Cobb setup and maybe adding an up-pipe and K&N to it. Anyways, what do you guys think of my plan? Any opinions or experience with this setup would be great!

sounds like youve done your research and chose the reliable/conservative route... although this will still yield huge gains!!!! enjoy!

Hey Iceman...

Stage II - exhaust (DP and catback), Intake, injectors, fuel pump, rails, fuel lines.

Cobb is a good system with multiple maps

your uppipe idea is terrible... there is no cat in the uppipe - you would be replacing a tube with a tube... not a great way to spend money.

Depdivr, thanks for the advice. Further research has led me to the same conclusion. Instead of the up-pipe, I think I'm going to add a Perrin turbo inlet pipe with an intake charge pipe and their lightweight crank pulley.

I am a huge fan of Perrin. I have their modified 816 cc STI injectors, Big MAF intake, FMIC, sway bars, endlinks and I am next on the list for their PSRS and control arms. Let me know how the crank pully works out... havn't gone in that direction yet.

Will do! I am hoping to find a few people who are using it to gauge whether it's worthwhile or not first.
