Hello,

I'm having problems with my STi, before i take it in to the dealership an get an estimate on how my problem will be fixed, id like to see if i can clearly understand what my problem is...

My RPM's bounce when i take it out of gear from either slowing down or going into neutral. My RPM's will go down pretty fast then it gets close to zero, almost like its about to die.

I went out today to drive around and take a video clip to share. please help me out if you have any idea, i am still new to subaru and still new to Turbo in general. any advice will help me so im not 100 percent clueless on where to start.

Heres my idea's
1) clutch is slipping? bought the car used so im not sure if the clutch has been replaced
2)vacume leak?

Please excuse some of the driving, it was difficult for me to hold the cam and turn at some points in the video, the end is a clear view of the problem

do you have a cold air intake and or blow off valve what kind of engine management do you have?


my car does the same i have all of hte above and a stand alone ECU

 

I have a CAI, that was my first thought, but i took that off went stock and its still doing the same thing.

I have Stage 1 flash, from my AP, other then that its completely stock, i had a BOV sold it went back to stock, had a catless TBE, sold that went back to stock so now i have a cold air, with stage 1 flash. i do have a turbo timer, i dont know how that can be a factor though

 

Have you tried flashing the stock map back onto the car? You can also look for a small vacuum leak or perhaps a grounding issue.
