Clunk in Rear Diff!

I just bought my 07 wrx and it now has 105 miles. I was pulling into my driveway that has a slight incline and i heard a light noise out of the back. When I let the clutch half out so the car would creep forward then pushed it back in I hear a light clunk. Is this normal? Can someone try it out on their car to see if its the same. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I want to make sure its not a factory defect. Thanks in advance for the replies!

Just further affirming what was already said to calm your nerves.

It's normal. Happens to me too.

+1 As long as you're not squeemish on a little extra drivetrain noise, TIC (turn in concepts) has a great rear "klunck killer" pacakge that reduces this occurance.

Actually the klunk killer set gets rid of hard aggressive shifting klunk, not low speed easy shifting clunk.

Mods can you move this to the drivetrain forum, please?

i know that the 06/07 has a top hat clunk in the rear suspension too.... most suby dealers are aware of this problem. if it continues, you should take it in and get it fixed.

struts blow out, take it to the dealer, it's a known issue and they'll fix it under warranty, unless you have springs or something
