When the cruise control lamp flashes, take this indicator very seriously. It is not just a simple CEL, but a sign of something potentially damaging to your engine. Replace the intake with the factory airbox and filter element. Reset the ECU if the CEL does not go out on its own.

U could use the CIA, but you would most likely need some form of engine management. If you were planning on doing more mods to your ride in the future it would be a wise investment (EcuTek).

I thought that on the STi, whenever the Check Engine Light comes on, that the Cruise control becomes inop, and the Cruise light flashes, correct me if I'm wrong...

Yes you are right you cannot use the cruise when its flashing.
