With Royal Purple, for a street car where you're going over 3,000 miles per oil change, make sure you use the street version.
I don't know for a fact with Royal Purple, but in general, one way to reduce frictional losses in an engine is to reduce the detergent package. Not a problem for true racing where they change the oil every race, but a very bad idea for a street car!

i haven't found any local places that carry redline for cheap, so i shopped around online... you can find website that sell a case for about $100 (~$8.30/qt), which includes shippping.
i ended up buying from www.hyperactiveauto.com and they shipped quick, no sales tax. although the sales tax savings is almost cancelled out by the additional shipping cost.
if you can find a website from oregon, that would be ideal.

I'm not sold on the advantage of using a 5w30 oil except in the winter if you live in a cold climate.
I use Redline 10w30 in the winter and 10w40 in the summer. My engine seems to like the 10w40 best. I really feel these engines need a thicker oil if driven hard.

Im Using Mobil 1 full synthetic as well. but i heard that TORCO has came up with a respecatble full synthetic 20 15 that is similar to the mobil 1 and has beter detergents from what i was told. With that in mind i am considering to switch. And for the filter i am using the FRAM double guard with the magnetic drain plug.
