I think that bracket it for the larger STI intercooler, at least that's what I've been told before. Either way, I have the same bracket that's not holding anything, and no problems. It's funny though, because I did notice that same empty bracket after my uppipe install as well.

sounds like it could be the wastegate - some people have found adjusting the shaft which controls it to help.

Or it can be the actual turbo in your pipe, I remember when I thought it was leaking and I had someone in gruppe-s listen to it, he sorta laughed and said it was normal =P.

You can adjust the wastegate on a stock DP?

yeah, I'm to the point now I don't really care if it rattles, all I know is that's the sound of someone losing very badly.

it's on the stock turbo - you remove the turbo heatshield, take the c-clip off the shaft to the wastegate, and turn it towards you a little bit (to tighten it up), put the c-clip back on and see if the noise is still there - repeat until it's gone (or until it's clear that isn't the problem) then put the heatshield back on.

im not sure if its the same problem as mine..but after around 4k rpm and going into full boost, i had this like.. "wind sucking in/fluttering sound" it was like that for a long time until i decided to put my stock uppipe back on. when i did i noticed the top bolts on the uppipe were not tight. after replacing the uppipe gaskets and tightening the bolts, the sound went away and car ran A Lot smoother.. i also had another one of these "wind sucking" sounds before except it was more criticial. the problem was the silicon ic hose that was connected to the turbo. the heat of the turbo and the tightness of the clamp wore out my ic hose and so it leaked.
