it is possible to run a VF34 with the stock fuel injectors and pump. it's not the best idea, but it can be done, safely even. you absolutely 100% need a reflash tuned by a very very good tuner. i drove my car like this for about 5 months, and haven't had a single problem as a result.

is it wise to do it this way? heck no. boost has to be limited to about stock levels, even a little lower. what you get is a turbo with more lag, makes little if any more power, and has your fuel system maxed. if you have to buy it in stages, buy the stuff part by part and stash them somewhere till you have everything.

with the setup im doing: helix up helix down 3 inch exhuast stock intake vf34 injectors fuel pump tmic aftermarket manifold and ecu reflash

whats safe boost for this setup on the street and for my tranny
with that setup at 20psi, how much power would u expect to see and what kind of track times? also the utec is the only engine management that allows u to change tunes on the fly, correct? and could you run that setup with 91oct. gas(damn nazifornia) safely or would u have to run race gas or maybe just octane booster? new to WRX's and i am trying to learn what they are capable of.

There is no reason not to do everything all at once. You are gprobably going to get a slight deal in labor if you have someone do it all at once. If you want some power now (and you're going to need it later) get engine management. I recommend Cobb's Accessport. It is easy to use and will, in the near future, have the capability to fine tune the maps. I had a UTEC and it was to "busy" for me. Too many things to play with. I didn't have the patience, you may however. Not to be rude though but you seem to be lacking a little in experience and knowledge so I would steer away from the UTEC if I were you. I have notice very good gains with the Accessport. Even better than I did with the UTEC but that's just my perticular instance.
As for me I have been piecing together my next stage and finally got all the parts. I am in no serious rush because I am more than satisfied with my Cobb stage 2 power level and am focusing on braking now. Do some searching and you will get a better idea of the different upgrade "stages".
Goodluck

With a fully tuned VF34 setup, and an '02 gearbox, you would eventually have a failure. There were updates to later WRXs in '03 and for '04 that dealt with this issue for the most part. I would plan on either a gearset upgrade or new transmission like a 6MT in the future. Don't let it scare you though- most of the failures I've seen personally with VF34-equipped WRX took 40-50k, with heavy track use. If it happens sooner than that, the car wasn't driven properly.

I would think that the VF34 would be the one to get you close to your goal but I am not sure that a VF34 will be able to get up to 350whp, please correct me if i'm Œ

A VF34 on a WRX is good for a 12.6 or so with a hard launch. It's not a 350whp turbo though- it only makes a little more than that at the crank. If you want low 12s, you need to go a bit bigger, with a GT30 or FP Green or something along those lines.
