turbo ?
i have a cold air intake helix uncatted downpipe mated to 3 inch exhaust
if i add a vf34 turbo to that setup w/out adding any extras will the car run better
meaning horse power increase or will it run bad w/out fuel injectors and fuel pump??
i will eventually get the fuel pump and injectors but i wanted to run that setup with that turbo till then.
p.m me your thoughts on that issue
thnx

I might think twice before running that turbo with a stock fuel system. Nothing good can come from it. Even if your motor is built, running lean is never good. These cars are notoriously volatile when turboed. But you prob. know that already.
Upgrade the injectors, pump, and while you're at it, convert the fuel system to parallel before putting on a bigger turbo.

parallel
here's a good link to show you how to do it. It took me about 8 hrs. to do, but it runs great and wasn't that hard.

if you are getting a bigger turbo.... GET BIGGER INJECTORS AND FUEL PUMP. you engine will not be supplied with enough fuel if you get the bigger turbo without getting injectors and a pump with it....
the stock intercooler should work just fine. I am in debate whether to go with front mount or bigger top mount. Although the FMIC is so sick and what I've wanted... I think I just may go with a bigger top mount. You'll get a little more lag with the FMIC only because the air has got a longer distance to travel, but the reason I may stick with the TMIC is so that my car will not stand out. Cops are attracted to the shiney. I don't want to give them any visual reason to pull me over. And if they pop my hood, I want my engine to look as stock as possible...

or with the stock setup?
yeah this is as far as im going as performance i dont want to go and build the motor
just some bolt ons and a ecu reflash is good for me

so what should you recommend this is a turbo 03 impreza
with the setup im doing: helix up helix down 3 inch exhuast stock intake vf34 injectors fuel pump tmic aftermarket manifold and ecu reflash
whats safe boost for this setup on the street and for my tranny

I prob. would keep it around 13 for daily driving, 16-17 when you're feeling frisky on the twisties, and 20 when you want to embarrass some musclehead in a Camaro!!
More importantly is how you shift. If you powershift and launch hard, you'll have tranny/clutch issues (no fun). If you shift it slower and smoothly, allowing your system to fully engage, and then crank the volume you'll be fine on 20psi.
Also, changing out all these parts can be disasterous if something goes wrong. You need to know how your system is running full time if you're going to make extra power safely. If you don't already have fuel press., oil press., and A/F ratio gauges, now's the time.
That's my 2 cents. ENJOY!!
