Solid(not blinking) misfire CEL

Solid(not blinking) misfire CEL

What does it mean when I have a NON-blinking P301 and/or P303 misfire CEL on my '02 WRX? I seem to get it every once in a while recently. I have cleared it myself as well as it going off on its own. I have never noticed it blinking as I drive or anything before. I have not had anything done to the car by the dealer)no reflash, etc). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also can you buy pre-painted body panels from Subaru? Someone hit my fender and it needs to be replaced at some point. Thanks.

i dont know about the body panels. i know you can buy painted side skirts. as far as the misfire code, i had one of those a way back too. seems that it means its time to change the spark plugs. i changed the plugs and it went away.

Not sure on the CEL, but I just had a run-in this past storm and need to replace the front left fender and rear left door panels. The body shop says there's no way to by pre-painted. Not only that, they also told me that the door panels aren't available either, and since the hit impacted on the door beam, that a whole new door has to be sourced.

Fun times. I love New Hampshire weather.

P301 = Cylinder 1 mis-fire detected
P303 = Cylinder 3 mis-fire detected

If your car has mods these CELs may be false indicators. A search on this forum may turn up something useful.
