Re-Post: Coolant Loss Help
Hey Guys,
I posted this in the bay areas thread and thought I should put it here.
I recently put an UP and DP on my '03 WRX (45K miles). All of the coolant (return and supply) lines are properly installed (reusing the spring clips) and are not leaking. There is no steam or visible venting, the boost seems to be running fine (I do not have a gague) and power is what is to be expected. The tempurature is remaining the usual spot on the gague (even under hard driving) but it has been cold here (snowing and shizz).
Anyway, the coolant in the clear tank is dropping slowly. It goes from full to low in about 400 miles. I had the system flushed and there is no air in the system as far as I can tell....
I do smell a light coolant odor on occasion and the usual stank from no cats...
Do you have any thoughts on what may be causing this? Is it possible to have this leak and not have it be visible? Could it be a head gasket leak minor enough that it burns off before I can see it or a leak internal to the turbo?
Thanks for the help...
