Pulling Engine--Mod Advice?
Next weekend I'm going to be pulling my engine out in order to get in dirty and put in a new Perrin Uppipe.

I was wondering if anyone had any other mod ideas for me, considering that the labor of pulling my engine out will already be done. So, I'd love to hear your ideas on things like the STi engine mounts and whatnot.

Currently I'm running a Perrin Downpipe, Perrin lightened crank pulley, IHI VF-34 turbo, and the GReddy Evo exhaust.

I have the STi injectors waiting to be installed, as well as a Walbro fuel pump. Once this is all done, I'll be reflashing my ECU.

So, my engine is out and I'm looking to do any other modifications that make sense. Thoughts?

How about doing the clutch, change the TOB and put in a new SS clutch line while your at it?

If you are pulling the engine I would consider putting in fuel rails since they are a PITA unless the engine is out.

bypassing the coolant line that runs through the throttle body plate, do the parrallel fuel rail mod, put exhaust wrap on the stock exhaust manifold and up pipe, change the thermostat to something colder.

change your sparkplugs. but as somebody has asked before, why pull the whole motor? just install the up-pipe, it's fairly easy. if you're going to pull the motor, you might as well do some internal work on your engine, such as the pistons, rods, etc., or maybe change your clutch or tranny. things such as the turbo, injectors, up-pipe, intercooler, etc, are pretty much all bolt-on products, so you don't really need to take your whole engine out and waste time.

I still don't get it. Why are you pulling the engine out.

Every mod that has been mentioned above can be easily done without pulling the motor out.
