no boost.

hey i visit here all the time but i rarely post. So let me introduce my self. Im edgar, and i drive a 02 wrx. My problem is that i had a boost problem since installing my uppipe and checked my hoses piping and everything, so i came to the conclusion that it was a gasket. After checking the bottom gasket i found it to be cracked. So i obviously thought the problem was fixed. But it isnt. My boost still wont go over .5 bar and i have no idea what else it could be. I revised all the piping, hoses, and clamps while nothing looks damaged or loose. Does anyone have any suggestions? thanks alot.

.5 bar is approximately WG pressure. I would check all the vacuum lines to the turbo, and make sure none of the restrictors are melted shut.

Your factory boost controller could be stuck shut also.

Check the factory boost control vacuum hoses and make certain the tiny bleed orifice is still in the correct hose.

see, ichecked the hoses soon after the problem arose and i checked the hose comming off the turbo inlet to inspect the orifice and there was none. So i bought an orifice and put it inside the hose i was told it was supposed to be found in. Was the info given to me correct? As soon as i get home ill check the hoses once more. thanks for your help pps.

Do you hear any whistling noses. I had the same problem after my install. Turned out i left a hose off the bov. I had no boost just like you and the car ran so bad. After 5 mins. of just finding the nose i found the problem. If any hose is off it will cause a problem.
