need help please!

mods: cbe, dp, up, and access port

things i have replace or check: fuel filter, spark plugs (1 step colder), reset ecu numerous of times, check for vacuum leaks, exhaust leaks, boost solenoid, cleaned maf, replace air filter, clean out boost lines,

I’m getting full boost in all gears, but from 4k-redline car feels like it's surging or reving just like a n/a engine. seems like i'm not getting enough fuel at higher rpms. so i order a vf-34 upgrade. i just installed it w/correct map and the car feels even worse, i double checked my install making sure everything was hook up properly. now the car has lag from beginning to 4.5 then i feel a slight pull for about a second and then it just tapers off. the only thing i could think of is fuel pressure regulator is not working properly or the timing is off. is there anything else that i should check or could be wrong?

thanks

Do you have upgraded injectors and a high flow fuel pump? If not you are probably hitting fuel cut, and thats not good.

Howzit Brad!

Have you tried switching out your current bov with a buddy's? Or, checking your up-pipe and its o2 sensor and egt probe?

My up-pipe bolts and egt probe had a tendency to loosen.

I don't think your hitting fuel cut if your able to achieve full boost, but I'm betting that it takes you a while to reach full boost. I think you have a small leak in either your exhaust manifold + up-pipe, bov, or i.c.

Hope things work out!

whatsup chris,

i had the lines that hook up to the wastegate and turbo outlet backwards. careless error, but now the car runs great! the vf-34 has a little more lag than the stock td04, but over it feels ok, i guess...i'm going down to the tracks tomorrow too see the overall improvement. i hope i can hit high 12's or even better mid 12's. i just filled up $40 dollars of 100 oct tonight at 76. somehow it still feels like it's revving rough at mid to higher rpms. i haven't tested the fuel pressure regulator to see if it's putting out the right amount of fuel yet. do you think that's a possibility to why it’s revving rough or could it be the ecu is retarding the timing. well, thanks for the reply i appreciate it

btw, no one in hawaii has beaten your 12.3 @ 114 mph quarter mile time yet. you still hold the fastest wrx in Hawaii. congrats!

laters,

brad
