if you must get an intake i'd recommend the XS Engineering CAI... here's the dyno proof:

I felt a HUGE difference in power, response, etc. and have had no intake related CEL's to date. I rallyX or go off roading every weekend and have to change my filter frequently by taking off the wheel and by taking apart my dirty fenderwell cover, yet I keep this intake simply because it works so well.

HOWEVER, if you plan to go big power and spending big money, I would recommend sticking with a stock intake since Vishnu, TurboXS, etc. dont like intakes cuz they cant tune for them reliably.

Don't believe the BS these people try to feed you. Intakes do make power and thats the bottom line. The real reason not to get an intake is cuz of the tuners not being able to tune for intakes.

STOCK with K&N drop in

The money Subaru used for R&D on the intake system wasn't used for nothing. We all know the WRX was meant to be a street performer, not an economy car. The R&D team had to have had this in mind, and have put more money into their research than any aftermarket company out there.

Show me an aftermarket intake with significant gains and prove to me that it will not give me any idling problems or lean out the A/F mixture. While you're at it, give me a damned good reason to blow my money on it.

K&N drop in, 50 bucks (average) get it, drop it in, and drive.
