Bad EGT sensor?

I keep getting the code for "EGT High Bank" I think its 546. Anyway that would be the reason the car keeps pulling timeing right? Thanks. Tom

WRX ECUs pull timing when they sense knock. If your car is pulling timing it is because you are knocking. EGTs are only used to check for proper exhaust temperature for activating the catalytic converters. As for the EGT code, your censor or its wiring has probably gone bad.
