which intake

Stock is good. I can't argue with that. However, I decided to purchase an intake, and I went with the AEM CAI. I know that a lot of people have had problems with them, but I have had it on my car for almost a year and I have had absolutely no problems. Happy modding.

Yes, stock one with K & N or STI OEM style air filter + air silencer removed.
Combine would be the best intake.
I even get more 40 miles more of each tnak of gas after silencer removed.

It's not just Vishnu... Cobb, Prodrive, STi... none of the top aftermarket engineering companies make intakes for the WRX. The best example is Cobb- they make far and away the best intake for the EJ25, but they haven't done one for the WRX. It's not because they are lazy or can't get it right- it's because they couldn't get one to make more power with equal reliability to stock. The stock intake is GOOD. Just keep it, and send ME the $150 you were going to give to Injen or AEM. Does you just as much good, and you won't run lean.

BAN SUVS,
Actually, 3 of Cobb Tuning's AccessECU packages do, in fact, use an intake. http://cobbtuning.com/wrx/accessecu.html
Also, the intake used in the packages (the APS intake) looks very similar to my AEM CAI.
As for the gas mileage question, I get far better mileage (see above post). However, this may also be due to my Borla Cat-Back.
Thanks.

AE-WRX-02CS-91: APS Clubspec or similarly equipped. ONLY FOR USE WITH APS INTAKE.- 280HP / 285ft-lbs
They are two different maps made for stage II. One is for stock intake, the other is for an identical set of mods, except for the APS intake. They make the same peak power. I am very willing ot bet that the overall power band is wider with the stock intake. The third map is for replacement turbos making over 300 hp. That is a different story than on a near stock WRX.
