i just bought this set up, turbo xs uppipe, hks downpipe, and a bosal exhaust. i know its a mutt setup but i save some money, just hope it sounds good. i think i'm going to have a professional do the uppipe.

what kind of bosal catback. What do you mean mutt setup. I have a helix dp and single tip bosal and it sounds really nice and performs very well.

With that combo plus perrin ic hoses i got 188hp 5900rpm and 187 lbs 4100rpm at the wheels.

maybe the hks carbon tip will produce more ponies and probably(definalty) sounds deeper and meaner, but i just saved 400 bucks on the catback alone that gives me the oppurtunity to purchase a cobb stage 2.

I personally don't think Borla is that loud. Its a wonderfully smooth tone, a nice deep bass rumble all the way up the powerband. At idle the best way to describe it would be a whumper(whump whump whump, etc.) There is a noticable power gain, nothing mind boggling, but enough to notice. With the removal of the intake silencer, the car sounds pretty mean. Its the perfect tone not to attract enough attention from the police, but loud enough to make your presence known. The system bolts up in less than 45 mins, the tip looks great, and is only 399 dollars. In my opinion, its the best value for the Wrx.
