...if I could only do one mod to a stock WRX (with uppipe), which would give me more "neck snapping" power...downpipe only, or axle back muffler only? With the given flow restrictions, does it matter? I may be able to get either for about the same price. Thanks.

 

Downpipe, NO QUESTION! You'll barely notice an axle-back (other than the sound) but the downpipe gives you a NICE kick in the posterior.

Just put on a Perrin high flow dp. Very, very nice! Noticeable hp gain, especially in the mid/high rev range. Expensive as hell, though. Makes me wonder how much more power I would have had if I went catless...

 

Thanks hiwrx...don't have the $$$ to do the Perrin. I'm scrounging around for the "previously owned" stuff. Time to bug Farid!
