95 Impreza Wagon: non-power to power door swap
Might have access to another Impreza Wagon and want to go from non-power windows and door locks to powered windows and door locks. Anyone here done it? Saw one thread on NASIOC and a member mentioned its easy to swap everything over. My other thing is that my wagon has a tan interior and the donor has a black interior, so I'm hoping to swap the entire interior over. Anything I need to know about doing that? Or is it pretty much unbolt from one car and bolt into mine? Any tips for swapping the dash or headliner or interior panels? Thanks!

It should be pretty straightforward though I haven't done it personally. I'd say take lots of pics of the donor car as you're disassembling it just for reference. Be extra careful removing interior panels as the mounting points and tabs can break very easily.

Yeah that's what I was thinking Brian. My cousin said he'll help me which is a plus since he's done car audio on Mercedes, Bentleys, Audis and a few other high end cars. He said he'll be able to get some panel poppers too. I'm guessing we should be able to knock it out in a day.

Yeah, I'd suggest stopping by Harbor Freight and picking up some panel removal tools. They'll help quite a bit and they're less than $10. It's pretty easy pulling all of the panels. The only b1tch might be the upper dash as I've never removed that piece. Definitely take a look through rs25.com if you haven't already. There should be some fairly good walk-throughs.

That's kind of hard to answer, because the car could belong to my friends tow company depending on what the current owner decides to do with it. He let me know about it so that's when I started playing with the idea of swapping interiors and a few other things. If the current owner signs the car over, they will definitely sell the car, and I could try to get a better price than any normal customer would get for it. As of now, its not running. Lady said the car won't start which is why she might sign the car over. So if that's the case, they would normally junk the car getting $500 or less for the car, so if someone was still interested in it, they'd probably sell it for like $600. And it wouldn't really be a shell, itd have a full interior, motor/trans, full suspension, not missing a thing. Just to give you an idea.
