97 impreza door lock opens when I close door????

Seems like the locks messed up. When I lock it, and close the door it unlocks when it closes (unlocks both sides).......easy way to fix any of this?

What Kyle says. Or get a keyless entry. Or lock the door after you close the door.

Is this a mechanism that prevents people from locking themselves out of their cars?

yea i dont really see the value in it. Seems like ud just lift the handle.

I know on some toyotas the door automatically unlocks if key is in ignition, thats better imo.

Try it in a Miata, where you have to stick one finger in (giggity) those tiny *** door handles while pushing the door closed
