dude, im almost 100% positive that it is just the new turbo noises. Cuz my car makes the same whirl whistle BUT only when i enter into boost. U could try tightening the wastegate arm bolt a 1/2 a turn and see if the noise persists. but i gaurentee u its just new sounds ur not used to. I keep steady boost throughout all my gears and i hear the whirl. its all good yooo. hopefully u get everything sorted out. keep us posted...lata mang

an update.. after many people have driven my car.. and after me and my dad spent about 2 hours looking around and driving it up and down the streets.. we have came to a conclusion that the reason the rpms are going up so fast is becuase my clutch is bad.. it is slipping like no other... a while back i noticed that starting off was harsher than when i first got the car, now you have to relase the clutch alot more when starting from a stop.. and also when i shift into gears, if i have it floored, it will stay at an rpm for about a second before it climbs in rpms.. when i would be rolling, in any gear 2-5.. and i floor it and keep it down.. the rpms would gradually increase, then it would increase about 2k rpm within a second and then go back down and then keep on increasing increasing normally... which the only thing we can truely belive it to be woud be a bad clutch... now as for the whisteling.. i still have no ***in idea whut exactly it is.. and hopefully at the saturday meet someone could help me find out!!

Here's the true test of a failing clutch:
1) Back car up to a speed bump or concrete block so it can't roll back.
2) Engage emergency brake
3) Let clutch in 1st and give gas
If the car stalls, the clutch is fine. If the engine keeps spinning, your clutch is shot.

If your clutch is shot, it needs to be replaced. 2 or 3 seconds of abuse won't make a difference one way or the other. This is no different than leaving the clutch in too long on an uphill start. A few times won't hurt the clutch. It's long term abuse that usually causes a clutch to go.
