problems problems problems

I just had a new up pipe and header's installed in my car. The shop I took it to did a really crappy job. My check engine light is on.....I figure it's from the EGT sensor cel since it's not hooked up I had to plug in my o2 sensor in my headers. The big problem I have now is that when I hit 5 thousand rpm's my car shut's down. I've been told two things. One the up pipe is installed wrong or it's the A/F mixture is wrong. Can anyone help me with this?

your car is limp mode right now, that's the reason why it's not letting rev past 5k. trying resolving the cel and it should go away.

you can use the 2.2 ohm resistor mod

also try checking to make sure the o2 sensor is screwed in good.

If your car is in limp mode, something is really wrong. I ran catless up/turboback exhuast with no cel fixes or engine management for about a year...and the cel did come on...but no limp mode from cat-inefficency cels.

You need to find what the code is for the CEL.

They do sell the 2.2 ohm resistors at Radiio Shack (~$3)

Another thing...You should have the sensor plugged into the headers. It's the up-pipe sensor that is supposed to be removed and replaced with the 2.2 ohm resistor.

And the up-pipe should have come with a bolt to block off the sensor tap in the up-pipe.
