Burning Wrx! Please Help!

Okay. Here is the problem. I have a 02 Fully stock wrx. i drive it everyday and it has been nice. my brother is learning how to drive stick and i let him drive it a few times (i doubt this has anything to do with the problem). but now i am driving i tap the gas and the rpms just shoot up. i dont know what it is. and if i want to floor it, i punch the gas the needle flys up, comes back and down and you just have a nasty *** burning smell. i have recently gotten this problem. maybe a week at max. Please help.

Clutch is dead...

Your brother was probably riding the clutch to hell. PLus it was probably near death anyway.

Just replace it and you are good to go.

look under the car and try to find a bag or somesort stuck to your exhaust pipes. There could be a plasic bag that melted and heated up on there.
