Anyone know what this tube does? (Near Downpipe)
Hey all, Just finished installing a B&B downpipe in my 2003 WRX. There's this little black plastic tube that is getting crushed by the new downpipe. It's located about halfway down the fiarewall, & it's about 1 inch in diameter. Right now, I have the tube tied off to the side with a tiewrap, but I don't think this will be a permanent fix.
Anyway, does anyone know that this tube is supposed to do? There doesn't seem to be anything inside it. It doesn't seem to connect to anything in the engine bay, & it feels relatively loose. I can push it back through the firewall a good 4 or 5 inches before it starts to hit anything.
I'll attach a picture below. Hopefully it comes through.
Just curious if it is safe to remove it or not. Any help appreciated.
Thanks!
