rubber tube next to downpipe

what is it? my friend and i just installed an rsr downpipe on his 07 wrx tr and the rubber tube is resting on his downpipe so whenever it starts to get hot you can smell burning rubber. can we just cut the tube shorter or is there an alternative. thanks

I have an 06 TR and don't remember any rubber tube near the downpipe. Is it a vacuum line coming off of the turbo??

I believe it's the drain hose for the AC system.
What I did is relocate the bracket to the second hole towards the bottom of the car. It moves it enough so that the DP won't touch it. I don't think you'd want to cut that piece.

from the side of the car leaning in to the engine bay, move the hose up towards you and to the left. There's a steel area there where u can just let it rest there.

when my buddy installed my first DP I think he "trimmed" it. That was probably about 3 years ago and I never use the A/C anyways

probably not the best idea to have water standing in a little pool on metal, but it if works for you. I ziptied it to the little area becuase there was a little hole there. worked for me and no rubber smell.

no..the water runs down^^ it doesnt create a pool of water.. the area they put it in has a lil bit of a slope to it..
