AP + ProTUNER + stock STi on 91 & 100 (dyno graphs)
* Stock 2004 STi (stock as in stock, unless you count mud flaps and a skid plate)
* Road Dyno graphs (nearly identical to Mustang graphs if I remember correctly). A stock STi puts down around 215-225whp on a Mustang dyno.
* Tuned by EQ Tuning
<--- Owner very happy with the results.
Power is smooth all the way to the top. Insane “instant on” power in gears lower gears. On the highway 5th gear now feels like 4th, 4th now feels like "Good lord! Wheeee!", and I can actually accelerate from 3000RPM in 6th gear.
So, getting down to it. On pump gas (91):

The "100 map" (actually tuned on 97 - mixed in 5 gallons of 100 shortly after the gas light came on). That's some damn sweet torque for a stock STi.

I'm not sure what's next on the list though. Honestly, it may be Subaru 4-pot fronts and 2-pot rears (and corresponding rotors) so I can fit 15" rally wheels and tires.
Definitely go for the TBE. Look at what Ed was able to do for me with just a TBE and a Pro-Tune!
The stock DP is hurting your torque bigtime, that 100 octane map looks awesome though.
My car on his website is the 05 with the APS 3.5"

agreed.
nice numbers. got my "lowly" wrx wagon stage 2 tuned by ed this weekend. couldn't agree more. instant-on is the best term to describe it. lag-B-gone could be another.
the protune was the best investment i've made in the car i think. the cobb stage 2 maps were never that great in my opinion and after having a protune the difference is just incredible.
key points:
ed spends as much time as needed to get your tune dialed in.
doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

humara - I completely agree. I think a pro tuned AP is a great investment - the difference is just crazy.
I've heard from a few different people that didn't think too highly of Cobb's house maps, but in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing like Ed, AccessPORT + ProTUNER is awesome (especially with how easy it is to switch maps).

Ed's prices on his site (http://eqtuning.com/) are $800 for AP + ProTUNER tune.
No downsides for me at all, and if you get tuned for 91 and 100 it couldn't be easier to switch maps with the AP. Even if you just get tuned for pump gas the quick switching is still nice if you want to use the anti-theft or valet maps.
I was worried my gas milage would go down since it's so much fun (and so much easier) to get that "instant on" throttle response.... but it's the same so no problem there.
I definitely recommend the AP tuned by a good shop in your area - the before and after is crazy. Well, I'd first definitely recommend AP and EQ Tuning, but seeing as you're in Washington.....
