Where to buy stock gears?
I have a customer at our shop with a destroyed 2nd gear in the trans of his 02 WRX, moderately modified. He is just looking to replace the broken gear with the OEM gear. I am pretty sure we should also be replacing the syncros and bearings as well, but I'm not sure, can we change out 2nd gear only or are they connected? We tried to find the RA STI gear set without success as it seems they are in VERY high demand and on a "infinite backorder". Can someone point me in the right direction. I tried talking to our local Subaru dealership but they have no idea about what we need. Thanks for any help!
