shopping around for some ra gears. where's the best place to buy a set w/ bearings and synchros?



blew my 2nd yesterday after my stage 2.5 install. the pull felt damn good up until my 2nd gear gave in...!@#$....i just have one question though, when my 2nd gear blew, i pulled over and looked under the car and saw coolant was leaking somewhere. Is that supposed to happen? i put my car on jacks today to check out where it was coming from and there is no sign of cracks or anything. where could the coolant be coming from? i double checked all coolant lines that were touched during the install and they were all good. Any input would be appreciated so at least I would know what i need to buy. thanks guys


edit: found coolant problem...nothing to do with trans

Are you guys DIYing the install? If not, where are you guys getting your tranny work done? And if so, how much does it cost?

 

i got my RA gears from rallispec with syncros and bearings. awesome company. i got my gears installed at vakamon. ryan can bang them out fast and the price was worth it.

 

how much did ryan charge you for the install? if you don't mind me asking

 

it depends if u bring in your car he will un&re install your tranny and do the gears from 950-1050 if you bring him the tranny it's 450-500 it was worth it

 

I think Vakamon may have a set of RA gears left at the shop...

i think we are getting a few more sets in because ryan is doing a total of three tranny's i think, if not i know he has a lot of gears lined up to do, i think now would be the best time to hit him up. give the shop a call!

 

yeh, i was jus playin around joey..

nah orly.. trans ain't gone.. its BEYOND gone.. won't go into any gears except reverse.
