Are we supposed to guess what kind of car and tranny you have? Mods? Miles?

MT or AT?

What kind of tranny fluid do you use? When was the last time you changed it?

It could be your clutch. Can you shift 1-5 when the car is off? Can you "feel" the gears? If yes, then it is most likely clutch. If no, then it is most likely the tranny itself. Drain the fluid and see what comes out. If nothing, then clutch. If lots or some gear teeth, then you are in trouble.

I am sorry to tell you this, I think you are going to need a little bit more money. My last car that needed a rebuilt transmission cost about $3000. Now that was an automatic, so I am pretty sure that a manual isn't going to be that much. Subaru wants about $3800 to rebuild a transmission if you take it to a dealership.

go to axis power racing.com and see what they can do for you, they told me they would rebuild my 02 mt for $2000 and it would handle high hp + high tq motors.. i have an 02 wrx with 100800 miles on it,, replaced clutch at 80000 miles and it is still running fine. i also have a lot of boltons.and not enough time to type them all.
