Nick, sorry to hear about the STi.
Hope to hear what the problem was so that we can see definately what may have caused it.
I'm not going to address the other issues in this thread other than....Wow....

so what don't you share with the class all the parameters Nick changed? Why don't you ask to see his datalogs and show us where the faults are? Why don't you show us where Nick said he was using a self created map when the engine seized? Don't try to play smart Suz, even when you parrot what hugo says, its just a bunch of nonsense. Before you try to find the fault in a situation, do some research. If you want to get some first hand input about XPT maps, go to teh Hawaii forums because a lot of them use those maps. No need to be all pissy just because he didn't want to be on your "team"
like this time its a unique situation only a few people understand

I take it you're taking your time finding all those things I listed huh? Or is Hugo not back from work yet to tell you what to say?

So I see this:
and I figure, he's right. This is pety. Might as well just forget about it, and I unsubscribe to the thread. Nick's engine is his problem, and I'm sure he'll figure out some way to fix it.
I see Matt posting tonight, and figure I'd check it out. I then see this:
and this:
Now I'm beginning to think which "team" it is that really loves the drama...
Matt: Why don't you share the full download of Nick's ecu you took since after the crash showing that his ecu has an unchanged XPT map? Same reasoning, we don't know. You are simply parroting what Nick told you. Nobody here knows the real reason. The only thing that most of us DO know is that I told Nick if he puts the map on his car, he's gonna blow his engine. I did some research cuz I was genuinely interested in it, but when Nick started telling me that "his" (that's right, he never referred to them as XPT maps, but "his" maps) were better than Mike's, I started to lose interest. He told me that "his" maps were so much better, that they had more aggresive tuning, that Mike's looked pretty much stock, etc. I really took that to heart because I truly believe Mike is an awesome tuner. I think that's kinda why I've been so adament as far as saying that I know the tune had something to do with the engine blowing.
Now, as far as you mentioning something about the team, it's funny, cuz he left your team too. And under the circumstances he left our team, it showed that he really doesn't understand the meaning of a "team" anyway. I'd actually rather not have him on our team.
So again, let's just drop this. Let Nick get his car fixed, and move on.

all personal bs aside, what was it in your research that leads you to believe that the map caused the seizure rather than a physical defect somewhere? If there is something you know that no one else has figured out yet perhaps you should share this information with us as there have been others in this thread that have shown an interested in the quality of the maps. I have never claimed to be a tuner or to have the ability to diagnose car problems sight unseen. Yes, what I said was a reiteration of what nick said, however is has been backed by a reputable tuner. If you're going to make claims like "it was all ecause of the map" shouldn't you do more research on that specific car? Maybe ask mike his opinion on the situation? If it was the map why didn't santa cruz suby check the ecu first? I dont mean any of this in a challenging manner, only trying to help get the word out there if these truly are dangerous maps since other people use them too.
Once again this is NOT meant as a personal attack or perpetuation of personal drama so please do not interperate (hmm, did I spell that right?) it as such.

Nick, keep us posted on the findings of the car.
As I said in my PM, I'll be back to Japan in a week or so, if there is anything I can get to you to help the rebuild, let me know.
