I didn't mean to be rude, was just confused a little.
I think it was actually 5 fully rebuilt motors, 8 deaths/failures total though. Don't quite me because i dont remember for sure but I think majority were oil related some were other random issues, am I right Jeff?

There was a total of 8 motors. The first was Dec '05. Everything from stock 2.0s/2.5s to built 2.5L over built 2.5L. They all went to the scrap yard. If it was one particular item that had failed each and every time it would have been easy to pin point what went wrong. Again I'll say that building a otor is not as simple as nuts and bolts. Be prepared for things to go wrong. When they do, keep a level head and move on. If you find yourself getting too deep, get out. The road will break you. I could not even begin to tell you the stress pysically, mentally and financially, this situation has the potential to bring. I suggest you make every attempt to establish a good solid, honest, relationship with Mike and everyone at GST. It may be worth it's weight in gold. I guess I speak in the virtual riddle because this was very emotional for me. It ruined me. It becomes something so much more than a car and a motor replacement. Don't let it happen to you. Take a look around, MarkSTi has had a similar experience. Don't ever say to yourself "I have to see this through". If you find yourself saying this or something to that effect, cut your loss and walk away. I would say with confidence, I spent at least the entire value of the car trying to see it through. I don't know what else to tell you.

I am really sorry that that happened. You give good advice.
I do trust GST, and can only hope for the best.

Here is an update and proof that I am cursed with cars:

"
Mike: I found out what killed your motor
Mike: the strainer/pickup tube snapped at the connection point to the oil pump
Mike: thus air was being pumped in the flow causing cavitation in the oil delivery
....
Mike: one of the rods fused to the crank
Mike: which locked up the motor
Mike: not sure how that relates to the cam journels being destroyed on the one cam
...
Me: its good to know it wasn't anything wrong that i was doing
Mike: no I can't see how anything could have been done to cause this
Mike: has anyone ever removed the oil pan?
Me: never
Mike: the oil pan sealant did not look OEM

glad it got figured out Nick and it nice to hear from a pro that it wasn't anything you did to cause it

oh yeah, Nick, do you know a guy named Brian with a silver bugeye WRX that lives in PG? He was interested in my wing before (when someone else had dibs on it) but its now available again but I dont have any way to contact him, I just ran into him at the valero last time and he asked about the wing
