Funky Noise. Thumping when turning right help..
This may sound strange but recently my car has been acting funny.
It seems that if I am traveling between about 30 to 45 MPH and I am turning right (say on an exit or entrance ramp) I get this thumping that sounds like it is coming from the front of the car. Feels like there is some vibration from it too but I hear it more than I feel it.
I hear nothing when I am turing left at the same speeds.
Does anybody have any idea what could be causing this or what my problem might be? Could it be a differential?

Still not sure exactly what to look at and what to look for. It is also raining so I can't look at anything.
Going to bring it into the dealer. But I am going to have to remove my strut tower bar first.

Having a strut tower bar has nothing to do with your problem. You shouldn't have to remove it. The flexible joint that connects the front axle to the back side of the hub is called the CV joint. All you'll be able to see is if the CV boot (rubber boot that covers the joint and holds in the grease) is ripped or not. The only way to get a good idea if its the joint is to turn the steering wheel in which ever direction it is that you hear the noise. Then slowly drive forward and have somebody listen for it. Its usually a very noticeable sound.
However with so little info to go on it could be anything from the CV joint going out to the strut making noise as it rotates during turning, spring isn't seated correctly on the strut and top plate.

YEAH IT IS hard to describe. I have a feeling that it is nto the CV joint but I will look and try your trick. I fear it could be the differential.
No matter what I am going to remove the strut bar and take it in for warranty service. They better fix it. No idea what it could be. I just hope it is not a huge thing and does nto keep my car in the shop for an extended period of time.
Will get back with any info I find out.
