Loud thumping noise coming from rear left coilover

I just started hearing a thumping noise coming from the rear left coilover. It's fairly loud and I hear it at lower speeds, especially when coming to or going from a stop. It's kind of a constant thumping noise.

I just installed the coils the other day and this is the first time I started hearing the noise. Any clue what it could be?

Did you check the bolt again to make sure it's tight?

I guess we figured it out at the VJJ meet. The top of the strut seems to be missing a washer of some sort and the coilover is banging around.

Probably going to have Kevin at AHQ check it out.

what coilovers do you have?

That happened to me when my external reservoir bracket became loose, and the bracket itself began hitting my wheels.

Bilstein PSS9. I can't remember exactly what's missing. Bilstein has all the parts available though so I should be able to order whatever I need.

Alright I found the solution. I can either use 02-03 strut top mounts on the rear or I can use these Scooby921 Strut Spacers

Glad the people at TIC and RCE could help me out.

so it was just a missing piece huh? well hopefully the assembly of the strut is still good cause the piece probably broke off on impact possibly.

The risk of buying used... Didn't the guy you bought them from get rear ended?

Yeah he was side swiped.

The people over at Bilstein didn't make a different size strut for the 04+ for whatever reason. Buying them used had nothing to do with it
