Engine and tranny stuck together??

I am in the later stages of an sti engine swap...
Except I cannot get my Tranny removed from the engine.
I have unbolted the 6 Bolts, and 2 Nuts... And jacked up the trans, and hoisted the engine... Shaking, pulling, etc... And cannot get them to even seperate a mm.
(I am free of the motormount bolts on the crossmember... so i can't find out what the hell is wrong)

ANY ADVICE?? Ways this has worked for you?

Thanks.

I read this post, but there was no solution.

Hmm, my only suggestion is DON'T use a crobar (sp?) to get them apart, my buddy did that w/ his charger and fawked everything up!

You did not remove the clutch fork. You need to push the tranny back onto the engine, then use 12mm allen to remove the clutch fork rod plug, then use a long 10mm bolt to screw it into the end of the rod and slide the rod out. Then the engine and tranny will come apart...

what he said....located on top of the tranny towards the driver side...it's pretty close underneath the starter(i think)...

Get to ordering a new throwout bearing now so you have it when you need it. Chances are, the tabs on the bearing are pretty bent or cracked if you fought to remove the tranny without removing the fork first. (Prior experience.)
