Take care of it.....don't drop the clutch at 5,000 rpms......don't slam the gears all the time......treat it nicely and you will have no problems.

yeah it all depends on how you treat it. there have been a few cases of them breaking on people who don't abuse it, but that probably happens to most cars, you just don't hear about it. but if you abuse it, it will break

I have 200+ 1/4 mile passes (MANY of them in the 12-second zone) and 23k miles of adult driving and I'm still going strong on the original transmission (but on my 3rd clutch). That proves to me that clutch-slippin' at the track saves trannies.

could you elaborate on the clutch slipping method you use?

i've roasted mine hard twice slipping it, but that would probably because i went 90-100% WOT both times

i was getting some work done on mine and the service people constantly tell me about the little boy that mommy and daddy bought thema wrx, and the beat the **** out of it, like the suspensiuon is shot and the gear box is busted and the best part is that is the happened to the same person twice, i guess people do not understand it is all wheel drive, you do not burn out, that is the whol;e point of all wheel drive no wheel slip.
