If you don't drag, then the transmissions on the wrx are not that bad. Its when you bang the gears that problems start to occur. But the trannys are fine for road racing. I'm not sure about the other subarus, but imo i think you should get the wrx wagon.

The transmission in a WRX is by no means weak. Its depends on how you drive. Thing is, you have to understand that unlike 2WD cars, the gears in the transmission of an AWD have to move all 4 wheels. Thats a lot of stress on the gear. So as long as you don't "BANG" (heavy shock) through them you should be fine. It all depends on how you drive because any transmission can be damaged .....

Yes, dropping the clutch is bad, but its not just only dropping the clutch. But dont pass up the wrx just because of the weak transmission. I wouldnt trade my car for anything! My friends have so many different cars and I love mine!
