'06 Clutch Engagement Issue
'06 Clutch Engagement Issue
Hello, I'm new here, obviously. Anyways, test drove the '06 yesterday... it was insane! All I'm used to is driving Honduh's, so this was a real eye opener. OK, on my Honda del Sol (laugh it up) I push the clutch pedal all the way in to engage the clutch, as it's just by habbit.
So, when I did this to the '06, it seemed like my foot was too long as it was hitting something just above it (when depressed fully). I have a size 13 shoe, so what I ended up doing on the test drive was scooting my foot down a bit so it wouldn't hit whatever it was hitting... yet it was very uncomfortable to drive this way. My salesman said I didn't have to push it in all the way, but to just push it in a bit and shift away. Which was also uncomfortable.
Which finally brings me to my question... have any of you experienced this when first driving a new WRX? What was your solution? Either it be using a new technique to avoid hitting that little obstacle, or adjusting the clutch engagement length so you only push it in so far as to not hit that thing?
I hope someone knows what I'm talking about. Thanks
p.s. Chopping off toes and getting a smaller shoe size is not acceptable... I love my toes too much

I didn't really have a problem with this and haven't noticed anything strange other than it taking a lot less effort. I ran an ACT organic clutch with an Xtreme pressure plate so it took an obscene amount of effort to engage and disengage, and it usually did so right at the floor. I think it's just strange because it's new to you.
