are you still on the stock re92's? a trick that another suby friend was telling me is to raise the tire pressure to around 42-43psi. make the tires stiff so they will break loose a little, gives you a little peace of mind that your axles and tranny have a little less stress on them since tire spin is better than shreaded gears
i had some sh**y dunlop tires that i used this trick and hit a decent 13.4 with a stock STi. my 60ft was 1.74 but i was shifting pretty caustiously since it was my first time also.

First time at the track this season, I ran a rough 13.6 on my last run. I was taking it easy b/c my first run, I missed 2nd gear/ redline really hard into 7000/8000 rpm. I freaked out that i might've f**ked up my tranny or blew out my clutch.

4 new bests
Best 60', best 1/8th, best 1/4 and best trap, all wrapped up in one!
Two good runs, both breaking old personal records
60' 1.792 1.776
1/8th 8.078 8.024
mph 84.63 86.01
1/4 12.521 12.565
mph 112.26 109.90
By the end of the night, I was pushing 28ish psi, and the clutch was giving up in 4th gear. The 109 mph run, I had to let up on the gas twice in 4th. I have the power to go faster, but not a pressure plate to hold it.
Drove it home happy, even with the weird three cylinder miss back, haha.
