You may be letting out of the clutch too fast. Try slipping out more. i also suck at launching but i let out too slow

if you're going to launch, u should be worried more about the life of your tranny rather than the clutch or the tires. Wrx tranny = expensive to replace and won't stand up to a lot of abuse.

Either way, if u still plan on doing it, do not dump the clutch like u would on a 2wd vehicle. You must slip the clutch.

If ur motor Bogs then ur letting it out too fast. But Seriously i wouldn't launch a WRX because it take too much to break all 4 tires and u are just putting too much stress on the tranny.

go ahead and drag the car. Just don't be surprised that your tranny will break on u sometime in the future. You got to pay to play.

I don't think that WRX trannies are as weak as other people say. I have around 40 high RPM (4.5-5K) launches on my stock tranny and around 26K miles on it. No hint of slipping of my clutch either. I talked to a guy locally about where I should launch and shift gears at and he told me about 5.5K rpm launch and 6.5K rpm shiftpoints. I'm going to try that and see because I only managed a 14.586 at best so far. My 60' times suck too, my best was 1.9
