hey everyone, im sure someone has asked this before but i was just curious to how u guys launch your cars off the line. i got an 04 wrx and if i wanna really jump off the line generally rev up to 5000 rpms then slowly drop the clutch. it really burns the clutch so i was wondering what works best for u all?

5000rpms sounds about right for a a very fast launch. Me I tend to hold at 3000- 4000 rpms and once the car bites I floor it.

To smoothly slip (not dump) the clutch will come with practice but slowly letting (riding) the clutch for launches will give you the burning smell and does not do it any good. Also you'll know if you've dumped the clutch as you will feel and hear the car boot.
