Is a WRX a wise choice for me at my age? (was: Want some advice please)
If you guys are concerned with me being a fast driver, then you honestly don't need to worry. I'm not in a hurry to risk my life. Also, if I get 1 ticket, even if it's for 2 MPH over the speed limit, my dad will take away my privelidge to drive...and I respect that.
Considering that, would a WRX TR be a good choice? A friend of mine just got a WRX a few weeks ago...sweet car!
And one more thing: THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HELP. IT MEANS A LOT TO ME. I ALSO APPRECIATE THE POSITIVENESS...some other forums (some ATV forums, for example), really give people a hard time. THANKS GUYS!

If I could do things again, I would have gone with the WRX and not the TR. Just spend the extra money - a lot comes with it. And as long as you are in NY and im in CA, I don't care how you drive because I don't have to worry about you running into my *** :P.
I ride ATVs in the woods...mud, rocks, hillclimbs, and "fireroads." Looking out for things and paying attention won't be a problem for me...I'm used to it.
What else does the WRX have that the TR doesn't?

dude, your in highschool. Get a dependable suv with decent gas milage. SUV because you can fit more chicks in at once, even space in the back to get some. I drove an explorer in HS then upgraded to a WRX when i was 20

Better seats (the TR comes with 2.5i seats)
Painted side view mirrors
Leather e-brake
Aluminum pedals
The newer 120W 6 speaker stereo w/ 6 disc change and MP3/WMA capability and aux jack (the TR gets the old 80W 4 speaker set up)... neither one of those systems is worth writing home about anyway
Last, and absolutely not least, air conditioning.
If you're willing to live with that, it might be worth helping you save your dad a little over $1K on the TR. Although, I wouldn't mind paying more for the better seats and a/c.

I would just buy a decent car 15k and below and learn how to drive first...get experience and after 3-4 years buy a wrx so that the insurance premiums arent too high and you will have the driving experience....just my 2 cents

They both have air conditioning, but the TR doesn't have "climate control" (not sure what exactly that refers to).

Climate control is electronically controlled cabin temperature. If you want it 70 degrees, it will apply heat or air conditioning to achieve that temp.

I have a feeling deep inside my heart that I'll end up driving a small pickup truck so that I can haul my ATV around from place to place. I will have to sacrifice the racing on the track, which isn't good, but I will be able to go off-roading (been doing in my dad's Wrangler it since I was born).
Option #1 is still the WRX.
