ok, visual upgrades are limited but performance is endless. Any EJ engine will fit in your bay (that means even the new USDM STI engine ) but even your stock EJ22 can be built nicely. There is everything from as simple as panel filters to turbo kits. As far as suspension, impreza suspension will not only fit but work well, that means you can fit TIEN's, CUSCO's, whatever you like. Brakes are very easy to simply upgrade to the WRX grabbers. So there you have it, it can be fast as heck if you want. OH! as far as visual upgrades (other than rims) I have seen some pics of a hot black legacy with an RS front bumper and a hood scoop as well as a STI like rear wing...it looked great, hopefully someone knows where it is and can post it.

sweet link, how much power does that crate motor make from axis?

oh, you have to still buy the turbo and piping yourself tho.

I don't know how much power any of those make. But, I'd consider buying an old RS and putting one of those in if I didn't already have the WRX.
