Spyshot Nissan Skyline
One of the main reasons they can't sell the R34/33/32 here is because they are almost impossible to convert to LHD, because where the steerting box should go is a whole lump of turbos.

I honestly dont think that people will go to buy a 70K Nissan when you can get an M5 or M6 for a little more than that and BMW, to me at least, just seems to be a better car. That or a Viper.

maybe the 70k price tag has something to do with the circa-500hp and (I believe) updated ATTESA-ETS. I think it has active torque distribution at all three diffs now or something ridiculous. Is it still assymetrical AWD?

maybe the 70K price tag has to do with how much worse the GTR owner will feel when a subaru beats them down the hill.

haha I was just saying...
Lets see the STi owner cry when I beat them up the hill with a JDM EJ20 swap in the L.
Lets see me cry when my buddy beats me up the hill on his honda CBR600f4
you can see where the argument falls through right? Here's how the cost breaks down roughly:
GTR - 70k
STi- 35k
L - 15k
cbr600 - 7k
Yeah, you have to pick what you want. They were considering badging the new GTR as an infiniti. That means, even though it'll have a nissan badge, it'll have an infiniti interior I imagine. I'll pass my judgement when I sit in one though.
I guess what I'm saying is, you're paying 70k for an out-of-the-box 500 hp AWD beast. With the subie you have to be a DIY-er. I'm definitely way biased towards the subies, but there are people who enjoy having a factory warranty if you know what I mean. And working on nissans sucks.

But what joy do you get on the road with a 70K car? YOURE EXPECTED TO BEAT EVERYONE!
thats why i wont own an STi anytime soon, no offense OF COURSE but the only competition you will find is on a track.
I would be bored even with an STi cuz youre driving around all night looking for a race that doesnt exist except for the occasional elise, evo, sti, etc or any luxory/exotic that wont push the limits like the previous said cars would.
Even though i would do anything for an STi right now...its perplexing

haha I was speaking hypothetically about the EJ20 L, but yeah I got the L. It's pretty weak, but I was trouncing porsches and audis with my jetta up in these hills, and the L is 15 hp up on that car.
I hit the roads around redwood city and woodside. I was down in santa cruz once, boy was that a wild drive over 17. I'll be back in the bay area over thanksgiving, I'll hit you up man!
By the way, anybody have any idea what the new skyline is gonna weigh in at? I imagine around 3600 lbs.
I'm starting with a G35 coupe weight. Add some weight for AWD and turbo goodies. At a fully loaded weight of 3600-3700+lbs though, that cars gonna be a fat *****.

People will buy it. I doubt the price will hit 70k. But I do not think it will be even close to the price of and EVO or STi.
If Nissan was really smart....they would produce a new Silvia model and sell it in the US.
Of course they would have to keep it FR and 2.0 or 2.5 and Turbo charged.
They had an awesome car on their hands with the S15....that car could have made it to the US. Wouldn't have been to hard to convert to LHD and keep the SR in there.
If any car ever had a chance at grabbing a huge following it would have been the S15, especially if it stayed at the JDM price tag of 25K.

So if this is whats under the covers, i will be happy. The front and rear really make the car so its hard for us to judge like we've been doing.
Id rather see the horizontal headlights ( for almost two decades theyve been horizontal, i think its awful to change them to vertical)
