I think it looks nice but I would still get an STI for half the price. Waaaaaay out of my price range.

Skylines have never really been..."pretty" cars.

I'm not really seeing the 350z in it...I see more G35

Now that you put it this way. It looks like a g35 with a wide body kit from some tuner house. ... or a g35 gone JGTC......

Actually how does it compare to the 350z JGTC car?

yeah thats what I was thinking, though I think I would get a base model C6 with the Z51 suspension/brakes package than throw the APS kit on it and put down 600 on pump and still be cheaper than the Z06 or GT-R

Don't forget, Nissan is the creator of the RB26DETT and the SR20DET, they know how to make an engine that can make BIG power. Besides isn't a new Z06 out the door around $80k as well? I know that mrsp its around $69,900.

If I remember correctly, there aren't many similarity between the z06 engine and the regular corvette engine right? In the same way I read that the skyline engine is similar only in basic shape to the normal VQ35DE, but that's where the similarities end.

yeah still a huge markup and wait on the Z06, thats why I say base C6 with APS twin turbo, $45K + $9K = 600+ whp on pump yeah the Z06 and base C6 motors are suposedly quite a bit different, though the Z06 motor is already so highly developed for maximum NA power I dont think it would have as much headroom left to make power with a turbo as the base C6 without rebuilding it for FI, though thats all speculation.

As for the GT-R, all reports would have it as a VQ motor, just like the ones in the 350Z/G35 and damn near every other nissan product. Dont forget theres alreadt twin turbo VQs in japan, (VQ30DET) so theres no practical reason they would design a whole new V6 turbo motor for the new GT-R, considering how tough it was already for them to make a buisness case profitablility wise for even making a a new GT-R and marketiing it worldwide.

Wink

From Car and Driver:
"Britain’s Cosworth is helping Nissan extract more than 450 horsepower from the upcoming 3.7- or 3.8-liter V-6 while still meeting emissions laws."

http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/...line-gt-r.html

I highly doubt if cosworth is involved,. it's just an another VQ engine

I am going to reserve judgement on it till I actually see the front facia. To me, it looks like they are hiding the trademark GT-R front face under that bra.

Why would you think that? If you havent noticed Cosworths makes a buisness out of hot-rodding exsisting production motors, look at the Ford Focus SVT. I assure you, if theres a V6 in the Skyline, it will be a VQ and thats all there is to it. If not you can come back here when the specs are released to bump this thread and call me an idiot
