Must be mistakening them for regular C6's because the C6 Z06's haven't hit the roads yet. They're due out late this year or maybe early next year. They are kickass cars. I've driven a regular C6 and it was a ton of fun. I prefer the styling to the C5's, so I'd take a C6 over a C5 Z06. New cam, intake manifold, and exhaust and you're about as fast as a Z06 anyways. LS-series engines are fantastic.

 

I live in MI, I get to see many cars that are not supposed to hit the streets for some time.

+1 C6, in Z06 form or not

 

hands down z06 is the fastest.
then the viper which has been seen to break into high 11's stock as well
also the sl65 amg mercedes is up there for speed, way faster than the e55.
e55 is slighltly quicker than the 03 cobra stock, avg +3-5 mph in 1/4.
most potential for cheapest is DEFINITELY the 03 cobra. full exhaust, chip, pulley and some sticky tires you'll see low 11's all day. change to a Kenne bell s/c and say hi to 9's and 10's.
also there's vids of z06+150shot = 10's. very fast.

 

I am still playing the C6 Z06 followed by the Viper SRT10.

ps. some fun information, insurance would be cheaper for me with a 94 Viper than a 04 EVO.

 

When this questioned was asked I believe the E-55 AMG would own all the cars above. To get good times in the Z-06 you have to be a pro or have DR on. I've seen soo many Z-06's out at the track running mid to low 13's.. on the other hand you see a mother of 4 running her E-55 AMG running 12.6 all night.. Traction control is great on those cars.

 

I am sure that a mid 12 second MB sedan will keep up with a mid 11 second Corvette that runs with Porsche GT2's at "the ring".
